Akshat’s Journey to Becoming a Public Speaking Coach

Today, Akshat Shrivastava works exclusively with CEOs and Founders to help them speak with Power, Presence and Authority.

Over the last 5+ years, he has coached 100+ leaders across 10+ countries, helping them prepare for the speaking moments that shape how they are seen by teams, audiences, investors and their industry.

His clients have delivered keynotes and presentations at Digital Marketers Australia, SEO Mastery Summit Saigon, IIMs, TEDx events and international business summits across India, Australia, the Middle East and North America.

A Distinguished Toastmaster and LinkedIn Top Voice (2023–2025), Akshat’s coaching is entirely 1:1, structured around each leader’s goals, and tailored to the speaking moment in front of them.

But none of this started with confidence.

As a child, Akshat avoided speaking whenever he could.

The first time he stood on stage, he froze. He looked at the audience. The audience looked back. And he walked off.

Embarrassed, frustrated and convinced that public speaking simply wasn’t for him.

Years later, while working as an engineer in Bangalore, he attended a Toastmasters meeting.

Not because he wanted to become a coach. Not because he wanted to speak professionally. He simply wanted to get better. That one decision changed everything.

For the next several years, he kept showing up.

Week after week.

Travelling across Bangalore traffic after work just for a few minutes of speaking practice.

Slowly, the fear became curiosity.

Curiosity became discipline.

Discipline became growth.

Over time, he spoke at national and international events and earned the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) title, the highest educational recognition in Toastmasters International.

Then came a defining moment.

In 2019, Akshat stood on the District 98 stage at the Toastmasters International Speech Contest as one of the top 11 speakers across seven states in India.

He had prepared relentlessly. And that experience led to a belief that still shapes every coaching engagement today:

The stage doesn’t reward the most talented person in the room. It rewards the most prepared one.

In 2020, Akshat left engineering and became a full time Public Speaking Coach.

Since then, he has delivered 500+ talks, coached leaders across industries and spent 1,000+ hours in 1:1 coaching sessions.

But one thing has stayed consistent:

Most CEOs and Founders do not lack expertise.

They have spent years building businesses, leading teams and developing ideas worth listening to.

They simply have never been taught how to turn those ideas into speaking that people remember and act on.

That is the gap Akshat’s coaching is built to close.

Coaching philosophy

What Akshat believes about

speaking and leadership.

01

Most speaking problems are clarity problems, not confidence problems.

When leaders struggle to hold attention, it is rarely because they lack confidence.

More often, the message is unclear, the structure is weak, or the talk was never designed to move people.

Get the thinking right and confidence follows.

02

Authority isn’t performed. It’s built through preparation.

The leaders who command attention are not always the loudest or most charismatic.

They are the ones who know exactly what they want to say, why it matters and how they want people to feel when they leave the room.

Preparation creates authority.

03

Generic coaching creates generic speakers.

Every leader speaks in a different room, to a different audience, for a different outcome.

That is why every coaching engagement is 1:1, structured around the speaking moment in front of you not a framework designed for everyone.
